Restaurant Skank is a modern ‘old-fashioned’ eatery serving traditional Danish dishes like smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches), tartlets and pickled herring. The name ‘skank’ (‘shank’) nods to the historic location on Istedgade, Vesterbro – the former butcher street of Copenhagen, a street which for several years was dominated by drugs, porn and prostitutes. In line with this, our inspiration for the custom-designed logotype comes from old butcher signage and Danish sign painting.
